Inspired by the song "Silent Night" and the scriptures about Jesus' birth, I created the piece for a Christmas gallery showing.
The light shining out of the stable bright in light of Jesus being born, the light of the world shining into the darkness. In this painting, the sheep are taking notice.
I used inkwash (ink painted in a watercolor style), watercolor and goauche on 11 x 14 inch watercolor paper.

This painting was inspired while at my church, singing a song that compared Jesus to an anchor in the midst of our storms.
This image came to mind and I had to paint it. I know that I'm not the only one who struggles in life and needs a reminder to trust in Jesus.
